DIY: Dino Tails

March 13, 2011

This how-to caught my eye the other day in Craft Magazine. I could not wait to make some of my very own dino/dragon tails! So what better way to spend a Sunday afternoon? A little green tea, Law and Order reruns, and sewing!

This project was super quick and has easy to follow instructions. I used felt I had left over from a previous project, velcro bits, and a little bit of stuffing. I just simply love them. And I hope my little friends Zach and Saskia do as well!! I actually made the third tail with an adult size waistband. I have to admit……. I wore it around for a little while! It may be going right into my costume box.

Thank you Jessica of Running with Scissors, for this great tutorial! I am sure these tails will be a smash hit!

Ahhhh, the Muppets!

March 1, 2011

Watching The Muppet Show is one of my fondest memories of childhood. I remember a ridiculous amount of giggling between my brother and I from the first moment of the theme song, to the last number.

This past weekend I was kicking back in a rented house with a really great group of friends. To my delight and surprise, I was woken up early Friday morning to the sounds of the show. I grabbed my blanket and a pillow and deposited my self on the sofa and watched HOURS of Kermit, Piggy, The Swedish Chef and all my old friends.

After my coffee kicked in and the ridiculous wave of nostalgia faded away, I remembered  this great video post in Craft magazine.

Enjoy!

Boxy to foxy t-shirt tutorial

February 19, 2011

I found this great, simple t shirt tutorial on Craft Magazine’s website. I tried a few men’s t shirts I had lying around, and now they are super cute girl cut shirts! The only tip I would add is that men’s t-shirts generally don’t stretch as much as girlie shirts do. When picking your favorite t to use as a pattern, pick one that isn’t completely stretched across you when on.

Here are a few pics my new t’s!
